I Knew a Guy Who Kept Getting Robbed by Ron Riekki

They robbed him in a bathroom

twice.

They robbed him of his laptop.

They robbed him of his phone

so he couldn’t even call the police.

They robbed him of his hair.

They robbed him of snow.

They robbed him of his coma.

They robbed his parents’ parents’ parents.

In the bathroom, he said the worst thing

wasn’t losing the money,

but was the taste of the wall, the bitterness of Trump.

The woman receptionist for my PTSD counselor

at the V.A. said to me,

“Why don’t you just get over it?”
