Moms by J. Bradley

Over a glass of chardonnay, the Lord’s Mom wonders why She decided to keep Him Why did you, Orion asks. The Lord’s Mom cringes when Orion runs his tongue across his lips slow; it’s his tell that he’s thinking more about how She can best unbuckle his belt.
The Lord’s Mom looks up, hears the patter of the Lord’s feet in his bedroom. She kisses
Orion anyway to stop Herself from saying something She might regret later when the Lord is no longer a boy wailing for more quarters in the arcade.
