Bone China Saga by Terry Ann Carter

weeping blue willow by the bridge
with three crossing over
the turret has a window, cracked

something concerning the sun
or maybe lack of moon

there is a garrison with a turret
no flies and someone watching

the owner of the mansion has dogs
and serves turkey gullets

in the nick of time the drawbridge lowers

there is a crack in the window
facing east something in me is broken

Terry Ann Carter is a poet and paper artist who has published four books of lyric poetry and five chapbooks of haiku. She teaches Japanese literary forms at Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Terry Ann is also the president of Haiku Canada. (
